Menus

Each theme comes with one or more menus that will be used to navigate through your Expressions website. The number of menus you have depends on the theme that you have active on your site.

Menus can be customized by using the Menus tool from the Dashboard.

Creating a New Menu

  1. From the Dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus.

  2. Unless you have created a menu before, you should not see any menus listed here.
  3. To create a new menu, enter a menu name and click on CreateMenu.

  4. Use the box on the left side of the screen to select the pages, links, and/or categories that you want to include in your menu.
    1. Click on Add to Menu.

  5. You will see your selections appear under the Menu Structure section.
  6. Continue this process until you have all of the items you’d like in your menu.

    1. Note: you cannot add items to your menu if you have not already created them. For example, you cannot add a page to your menu unless you have already created that page.
  7. Click on Save Menu when finished editing your menu.

Setting Menu Locations

Depending on your theme, you are allowed to specify the location that you would like your menu(s) to appear.

  1. In Appearance > Menus, click on Manage Locations.

    1. Note: You must already have created a menu in order to manage its location
  2. Use the dropdown arrows to select your menu location.
  3. Save changes when you are finished.
