The Settings area will allow you to further specify how your Expressions site operates. To modify your settings, login to your Expressions site, go to the Dashboard, and click on Settings.
General
If you click on Settings > General, you’ll be able to change the following:
- Site Title
- Tagline
- Email address
- Membership
- New User Default Role
- Timezone
- Date Format
- Week Starts On
- SU Membership
- Site Language
Be sure to save all changes when finished.
Writing
Under Settings > Writing, you can change the settings that apply to writing and publishing content for your site.
Reading
In Settings > Reading, you can control how your content is displayed on your site.
Changing your Site’s Front Page
By default, your Expressions site is set to show your latest posts on the front page. This is the page people are brought to when the first visit your Expressions site. This can be changed so the first page displayed is a static page that you’ve created, rather than your posts. Many Expressions users accomplish this by creating both a Home page and a Blogs page. The Home page would be the
- Next to Front Page Displays, click on A Static Page
- Next to Front Page, select the page that you would like to appear

- Next to Posts Page, select the page that you would like your posts to appear on

Discussion
Under Settings > Discussion you can manage how comments are displayed and who can leave comments on your site.
Media
In Settings > Media, you can set size specifications for media you insert into your site.
Permalinks
Under Settings > Permalinks, you are able to choose your default permalink structure.
Permalinks are the permanent URLs to individual pages and blog posts, as well as category and tag archives. Basically, a permalink is the web address used to link to your content that is permanent, and never changes — that’s why they’re called permalinks.
Multi-Site
Multi-Site allows you to create sub sites from your original parent site. Multi-Site can be enabled from here, but note that once you enable Multi-Site it cannot be disabled.
