Inserting Media

Media such as images, video, audio, and documents can be added to your Expressions site. Media can be inserted into pages and posts, and is stored in your Media library.

Adding Media to a Page or Post

  1. Login to your Expressions site and go to the Dashboard.
  2. Depending on where you want to insert your media, click on either Pages or Posts.
  3. Choose to either edit an existing page/post, or create a new one.
  4. Make sure you are in the Visual editing area.
  5. Place your cursor wherever you want you media to appear in your text editing area.
  6. Click on the Add Media button.
  7. The Insert Media window will open.
  8. If you click on the Upload Files tab, you will be able to either select the file you want to upload, or simply drag and drop the file to the window.
  9. If you click on the Media Library tab, you’ll see all of the media you have already uploaded to your Expressions site.
  10. When you have selected or uploaded you media, you will see an Attachment Details pane appear on the right side of the window. Depending on what media you upload, you will see options to change the title of the media, provide a description, include Alt text, change alignment, and to change the display size of the media.
  11. When you are finished, click Insert Into Page.
  12. Your media will appear wherever you placed your cursor on the page.
  13. You can resize the image by clicking on it and dragging the corners to make the image bigger or smaller.

Adding Media to the Media Library

You can insert media into your Media Library without having to include it in a page or post. This is a good option if you know you’ll be using certain media in your site, but do not want to make it public yet.

  1. Login to your Expressions site and go to the Dashboard.
  2. Click on Media.
  3. To add new media, click on Add New.
  4. Select the file you want to upload, or simply drag and drop the file to the window. Note that the maximum file upload size is 150 MB.
  5. A progress bar will appear as the media is being uploaded to your Media Library. You’ll see the name of the file appear when it is finished uploading.
  6. From here, you can edit the media. The file you uploaded will now appear in your Media Library. When you are ready to insert the media into a page or a post, you will be able to do so from the Add Media button within the page or post.
